D Shackles are an excellent and versatile way of attaching chain to just about anything. They are our go-to preference for this application because of how wide the open area is once the threaded pin is removed. They are great for attaching to our chain eyes, hitching post rings or to other chain sizes. We use them exclusively at each end post in our post and chain installations because the bulb on the end will sit in the milled notch of the post without pulling through and without having to have chain dangling out the back side.
